Flute players are trained on Andersen’s (1847-1909) etudes, but it is unlikely that many of them know that this renowned Danish flutist was a founding member of the Berlin Philharmonic. He became a popular composer in his later years. This pair of tasty morsels would make a fine addition to any program.
