Description Douk-Douk El Baraka Large Carbon Knife One of the French knives with the most history and most controversial of all since it was used by Algerian soldiers to “finish off” the French soldiers in the Algerian War. Made in France but at first it was only distributed to Melanesia (Oceania) and since business did not go very well, they imported them to North Africa where Algeria was their main market and called the Algerian national knife. Until the war it was considered a weapon of war by France and its sale was prohibited in Algeria. From that moment on, it became popular in the rest of the world, even in France, where it was unknown, even though it was manufactured there. The figure represented on the handle of the knife is the Melanesian God DUK DUK (Douk-Douk). He is also a figure feared by Algerians (I have been able to verify this with clients I have had at Cuchillería Moreno and they told me about it. One of them even bought one to scare his “dear” father-in-law with the Douk-Douk). . Extremely simple and economical to manufacture. A razor with great cutting that is used even for shaving in less developed countries. The blades are made of AFNOR XC75 carbon steel and Z70 CD15 stainless steel (surgical steel). Hardness 50-53 Rockwell. A bent metal fist and a piston system that retains the blade with enough force so that it does not close with normal use. Being so flat and light, it can even be carried in your wallet. Highly appreciated by collectors around the world and this knife cannot be missing from any collection, no matter how small or large.
